A month before Appalachian State University football opens its 2014 campaign in nearby Ann Arbor versus Michigan, Detroit Lions' training camp was the epicenter of Appalachian State football outside of Boone on

Tuesday.

With former Appalachian State quarterback Daniel Jeremiah (1998-2000) at Lions camp in his role as an analyst for the NFL Network, five former Mountaineers gathered for a photo following practice. Joining Jeremiah were Lions punter Sam Martin (App State - 2009-12), running back Steven Miller (App State - 2011-12) and wide receiver Andrew Peacock (App State - 2010-13) and Detroit assistant head coach Ron Prince (App State offensive lineman - 1990-91).

Martin was selected by the Lions in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft and ranked sixth in the NFL with a 47.2-yard punting average as a rookie. Miller also joined the Lions in 2013 as a rookie free agent and after a stellar preseason, spent the campaign on the team's practice squad. Prince, a coaching veteran who served as head coach at Kansas State from 2006-08, and Peacock, a rookie free agent, are in their first seasons in Detroit.
