Kellin Deglan and Jairo Beras both homered and the Hickory Crawdads bounced back by knocking off the Greenville Drive 6-4 Friday night at L.P. Frans Stadium  Coming off their first consecutive losses in six weeks, the Crawdads quickly righted the ship with a middle-inning rally against Greenville. Deglan, who was 2-4 with a

home run and two runs-batted-in, and Beras, who was 3-4 with a home run, led the 'Dads ten-hit attack. Joe Jackson chipped in with two hits and two RBI. The Crawdads (48-30 overall; 7-2 second half in the South Atlantic League) have won 22 of their last 25 games.

Trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Deglan crushed a two-out, two-run blast to right field off of Greenville starter Myles Smith to put the 'Dads ahead 3-2. The long ball was the tenth of the season for the hot-hitting Canadian, and his third in his last three games played.

Hickory added three more runs in the sixth, increasing its lead to 6-2. Beras got things started with an opposite field solo home run to right-center field. It was his seconnd home run of the year. Luis Marte followed with a double and Lewis Brinson walked before Jackson drove in a run with a RBI single and Nomar Mazara plated the inning's third run on a groundout.

Carlos Asuaje of the Driver (37-41; 3-6) roped a two-run homer to right off of Crawdads reliever Kevin Pucetas in the eighth. Asuaje drove in three runs on the night. Josh McElwee came on in the ninth, struck out two and picked up his sixth save of the year.

Hickory starter Cole Wiper (5-6) got the win after holding Greenville to two runs on five hits with no walks and six strikeouts in his five innings pitched. The Crawdads and Drive will play again Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. in game two of their four game series.
