DWI defendents could be photographed by police PDF Print

 DWI defendents without identification would be automatically fingerprinted and photographed under a bill recommended by a Senate committee yesterday.

Lawmakers hope the bill will help officers better track DWI offenders who do not show up for court. Similar legislation in the House met the unanimous support of a judiciary committee. The House measure would allow officers to photograph drivers without IDs if they believe the suspect is lying about his or her identity.
