It won't be long before the Watauga Middle School football team gets back on the field with its new head coach Mark Smith.

 

 

 

The Wolverines have released their schedule for the upcoming season, and Smith will make his coaching debut on Wednesday, August 27 at home against Avery. The Wolverines are tenatively playing a seven-game schedule this season, which includes four home games.

 

The Wolverines will play Hibriten at Jack Groce Stadium at Watauga High School on Wednesday, October 1.

 

Smith replaces Dale Allred and Steve Breitenstein, who retired from coaching at the end of last season. Smith is a Tennessee native that has been a coach at the middle school and high school levels. Smith is is currently an Exceptional Childrens Teacher at Valle Crucis Elementary School.

 

All games begin at 4:30 p.m., and all home games will be played at Hardin Park School unless noted.
