When you're hot, you're hot; when you're not, you're not. And the Hickory Crawdads were ice cold Tuesday night in a 3-0 loss against Kannapolis at L.P. Frans Stadium. The Crawdads (24-26) were held to a mere three hits in the loss. The loss, and the low hit total, also snapped Hickory's eight-game streak of nine hits or

more in a game. The win also snapped Kannapolis' seven-game losing streak.

Winning pitcher James Dykstra (3-5) led the way with six shutout innings. Hickory starter Tyler Smith (1-1) matched Dykstra with five shutout innings of his own before the Intimidators (22-28) pushed a run across in the sixth and two more in the seventh.

The 'Dads had runners in scoring position three different times during the game, including a bases loaded situation with one out in the seventh, but Jordan Guerrero of the Intimidators struck out Travis Demeritte and Janluis Castro to end the inning.

Joe Jackson (1-4), Ryan Cordell (1-4), and Ronald Guzman (1-4) had a hit apiece for Hickory in the loss. The teams will wrap up their three-game series tonight at 6:00 p.m. The Crawdads are 3-3 on this seven-game home stand.
