Tom Eanes, who has been at Wilmington-Ashley High since 2011, has been named the new football coach at Morgaton-Patton. He replaces Joe Glass, who resigned after two years to become the new football coach at Concord-Robinson.

Eanes is in his 26th season as a high school head football coach. He becomes the fifth head football coach in Patton’s history. His debut game as Panthers head coach is Aug. 22 in Morganton against Mountain Heritage.

Eanes is at his eighth school as a football coach. Eanes is an Elon graduate. His teams were 8-22 during his three-year stay at Wilmington-Ashley. Eanes has also coached at East Lincoln, Hillsborough Orange, Albemarle, East Surry, East Rowan, and Pender County.

Eanes’ overall record is 126-160-1, highlighted by three seasons of 10 or more wins at Pender County and a state 1AA championship game appearance.
