After they blew a 5-3 in an extra-inning loss Sunday night, the Hickory Crawdads (20-23) offense made sure to leave nothing to chance Monday night. The 'Dads exploded for ten runs on 11 hits en route to a 10-6 win over the Kannapolis Intimidators at CMC-NorthEast Stadium. A five-run first inning kick started the offensive

The three long balls and a five-run first inning both tied team highs; the ten-run outburst marked the fourth time this season that Hickory has scored in double digits. The majority of the Crawdads production came against losing pitcher Jake Sanchez (4-2), who entered the game among the South Atlantic League leaders in ERA (third -1.31), batting average against (first - .157), and strikeouts (second - 44). Hickory starter Akeem Bostick (2-2) had in cruise control most of the night. He gave up one run over five innings to help the 'Dads post a big, early lead.

Trailing 8-0, the Intimidators (21-22) got on the board with a run in the bottom of the third to, but the 'Dads scored again in the fifth when Kellin Deglan doubled and eventually scored on an error to put them back up by eight at 9-1.

Kannapolis rallied and cut the lead to three at 9-6 with two runs in the sixth and three in the seventh against Hickory reliever Paul Schwendel, who allowed all five runs on two hits and five walks.

But Cody Kendall squelched the rally, holding the Intimidators scoreless over the final 2.2 innings. Cordell was 3-5 with a home run, 2 RBI, and two runs scored; Evan Van Hoosier was 2-5, triple, a double and two runs scored; Jackson homered and drove in two runs;, Torres homered and drove in four runs..
