The Hickory Crawdads blew a 5-3 lead and lost 6-5 in ten innings at Kannapolis Sunday night at CMC-NorthEast Stadium. Sunday night's game also featured seven combined errors and 14 total walks between the two teams. Trailing 5-3 in the bottom of the eighth inning, the Intimidators (21-21) cut the lead to one on a
bases-loaded walk; they tied it up in the ninth with a run-scoring single; they won the game on a bases-loaded sacrifice fly by Trey Michalczewski in the tenth. Cleuluis Rondon scored the game-winning run.
Jordan Guerrero (2-0) got the win in relief after he tossed three scoreless innings. Ryne Slack (2-1) took the loss after allowing the tying run to score in the ninth and the winning run to come across in the tenth.
Joe Jackson paced the Hickory (19-23) offense going 2-4 with two RBI, a walk, a stolen base, and a run scored. Nomar Mazara was 2-5 with a run scored; Evan Van Hoosier was 1-4 with a double an RBI, and a run scored; Jairo Beras was 1-5 with a double, and Michael De Leon was 1-4 with a double and he scored a run. The 'Dads built their lead thanks to four unearned runs on three Kannapolis errors.
The Crawdads and Intimidators will play game three of their four-game series tonight at 7:05 p.m.
