The Hickory Crawdads have erupted for 21 runs in their last two games. Following 11-4 drubbing of Greensboro Friday night, the Crawdads (11-11) routed the Grasshoppers 10-1 Saturday night at L.P. Fran Stadium.

Hickory was relentless throughout the night scoring in every inning but one. They grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first inning and never let up. In turn, Hickory's pitching staff led by Frank Lopez, Tyler Smith and Abel De Los Santos held Greensboro to only one run on seven singles while striking out 12.

Evan Van Hoosier was 2-4 with a double, an RBI, and he scored a run; Nomar Mazara was 2-4 with a double and a run scored; Kellin Deglan was 1-3 with a triple and three RBI. The Crawdads pounded out ten hits.

Lopez (2-1) tossed five shutout innings with six strikeouts and got the win. He allowed three hits, all singles, and he walked two. Lopez has also been Hickory's stingiest pitcher in the month of April. He has thrown 13-straight scoreless innings dating back to his start on April 13th against Asheville.

The win marks the first time this season the Crawdads (11-11) have won consecutive games at home. They're also 5-2 against the Grasshoppers (11-11). Hickory will go for the series win Sunday at 5:00 pm.
