The Hickory Crawdads awoke from their slumber and exploded for a season high in runs and hits as they clobbered Greensboro 11-4 Friday night at L.P. Frans Stadium. The Crawdads (10-11) snapped a three-game losing streak with the win.

The Crawdads exploded with four multi-run innings to come away with their most lopsided victory of the season. All nine 'Dads starters reached base; Evan Van Hoosier, Ronald Guzman, and Kellin Deglan all had three hits apiece.

The Crawdads offense wasted no time in establishing a lead, with the 'Dads scoring three runs on one hit and three walks in the first inning. Deglan came through with the big hit in the frame, with a two-out, two-run bases loaded single to right field.

The Hickory lead swelled to 5-0 in the second inning, when Nick Vickerson crushed his first home run of the season over the left field wall with a man aboard.

The Grasshoppers (11-10) cut into Hickory's lead by scoring twice in the third and once in the fifth making it 5-3. The Crawdads put the game away with four runs on four hits and two more walks in the sixth to put the contest out of reach. Nick Urbanus had a three-run double to backbone the attack.

Van Hoosier was 3-4 with four RBI, two runs scored, a double and a walk. Guzman went 3-5 with a double and a RBI; Deglan ended the night 3-4 with two RBI and a run scored.

Ryne Slack (1-0) earned the win for the Crawdads after allowing only one run on two hits during his four inning stint in relief. The teams meet up again Saturday at 6:00 pm for game three of their four-game series.
