Lees-McRae sophomore catcher Sadie Lagle has been named to the Conference Carolinas All-Conference first-team for her on field success in 2014, the conference office announced lateThursday evening.




Lagle (Harmony, N.C.) was a dominate force all season while finishing seventh (.339) in the conference in batting average. The sophomore led the team in a majority of offensive categories while successfully stealing five bases.


Lagle has played in every game (43) and has started all but one for the Bobcats (8-35). She paces the squad in slugging percentage (.512), at-bats (121), hits (41), doubles (16), RBI (18), total bases (62) and hits (41).


LMC earned the No. 8 seed in the Conference Carolinas Softball Championship Tournament and will battle No. 1 Limestone at 1 p.m. Friday in Burlington, N.C.


With a win, LMC will play at 5 p.m. against the winner of Mount Olive and Erskine. With a loss, LMC will play at 3 p.m. against the loser of North Greenville and Pfeiffer.
