Joseph Lowder was at it again Wednesday night. Only this time, Lowder, who has been Ashe County High’s most dominant pitcher this season, did it with his bat.
The Ashe County sophomore was 2-4 with two runs-batted-in to highlight a three-run rally in the bottom of the seventh as the Huskies defeated North Surry 3-2 in a non-conference game in West Jefferson, N.C.
Alex Laws got the start, and despite giving up four walks and 11 hits, picked up the win. Laws coughed up two runs, but only one was earned. The Huskies (7-9) entertain East Wilkes in a Mountain Valley 1A-2A Conference game Friday night.
