The Hickory Crawdads tried to make up for lost time Tuesday night as they rallied for three runs in the bottom of the ninth. But Lexington survived the scare and hung on to win the game 4-3 at L.P. Fran

Stadium.

The Crawdads, who were held scoreless through the the first eight innings of the game, left the tying run at third. Winning pitcher Matt Tenuta was in complete control through the first seven innings of the game, scattering five hits.

The 'Dads finally broke through in the ninth against Kevin Perez in the ninth. Nomar Mazara walked to start the frame and Nick Vickerson singled to center to put two runners aboard. Lewis Brinson singled one-out later to load the bases. Eduard Pinto got Hickory on the board with a two-run single to left field making it, 4-2.

With the tying runs on base and only one out, Kellin Deglan brought the 'Dads to within a run with a sacrifice fly to left, but Isiah Kiner-Falefa popped out to short to end the game.

Cole Wiper of the Crawdads suffered the loss. He gave up two runs on five hits, one walk, with five strikeouts over five innings.
