For the second time this year, Lenoir-Rhyne University's Ivan Vieitez has been named the South Atlantic Conference Baseball Player Of The Week. Vieitez, a junior outfielder from Miami, Fla., batted .632 (12-for-19) with a home run and nine runs batted in to lead the Bears to a 5-0 week.

Vieitez also scored nine runs to go along with a pair of four-hit games and connected on a two-run home run in the first game of a doubleheader sweep of Mars Hill last Saturday at home.

In addition, Vieitez threw a seven-hit shutout in a 4-0 triumph over Mars Hill in the nightcap of the doubleheader on Saturday. Vieitez struck out four batters en route to his second shutout and third complete game of the year.

Vieitez, a 2013 First-Team All-South Atlantic Conference honoree, currently leads the league in batting average (.444) to go along with a team-high three home runs, 34 runs batted in and a .654 slugging percentage.
