Lees-McRae softball seniors Lori Fulmer and Alison Armstrong have been tabbed to the Conference Carolinas All-Academic team, the conference office
announced Tuesday morning.
The 2014 Conference Carolinas Softball All-Academic representatives have been awarded to junior and senior student-athletes with a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale in all work completed at their member institution that have played in a conference sponsored sport. The GPA is calculated based on the student-athletes cumulative average through the previous semester and each student-athlete must have attended their member institution for at least one academic year.
Fulmer (Prosperity, S.C.) is majoring in wildlife biology with a psychology minor and has been solid defensively for the Bobcats while fielding .943 this season. The senior has been a part of the LMC softball team for four seasons and was honored at Senior Day last Saturday.
Armstrong (Bellingham, Mass.) is a wildlife biology major with a minor in criminal justice. She broke up a no-hit bid in the bottom of the seventh with two outs in game one of Saturdays doubleheader.
Pfeiffer led all CC schools with seven representatives while Limestone had five. Mount Olive and Belmont Abbey had four each King, LMC and North Greenville had two.
The Bobcats conclude their regular season with a doubleheader against Mount Olive on April 22 starting at 12 p.m.
