This is getting monotonous, but Ashe County High baseball coach Ronnie Pruitt isn't complaining. Sophomore Joseph Lowder notched his third win of the season without a loss last Friday

night as the Huskies knocked off Elkin 4-1 in a Mountain Valley 1A/2A Conference game.

Lowder, who has won all of Ashe County's games this season, went the distance and gave up a run on two hits with seven strikeouts. The Elks grabbed a 1-0 lead on an RBI single by Drew Shinkle in the third inning, but the Huskies answered back with four runs of their own in the fourth.

Hunter Barnes had the big blow in the frame with a two-run double. The Huskies (3-2 overall; 1-1 MVC) take on Starmount in a MVC game Wednesday night. They play at Wilkes Central on Friday.
