Storm Wins Championship PDF Print

The Watauga Storm ninth grade girls' basketball team won their first tournament of the year.



The Storm won the "Battle for the Ball" Tournament held in Winston-Salem, N.C., this past weekend. The format for the tournament was a round-robin and the Storm went a perfect 3-0 to claim the championship.


The Storm used a tenacious defense to hold the opponents to a total of 36 points in the three games.


In game one, the Storm defeated the West Davidson Dragons, 31-7. They continued their winning ways in game two, defeating the Starmount-Yadkin Rams, 41-19. They won the title by knocking off the Lake Norman Raptors, 31-10.


The Storm will be back in action March 29th, as they travel to Mt. Airy, N.C., for the "MayBerry Eilte Battle Of The Best" tournament.
