The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse Team (4-2), ranked No. 14 in NCAA Division II, notched an easy victory over Lynn (1-4), 23-4, Sunday afternoon at Walton High School.


Three players - junior attacker Jay Goldsmith (Jamestown, N.C.), senior midfielder Tyler Kotch (Butler, Pa.) and freshman attacker Collier Stone (Marietta, Ga.) - scored three goals each to lead the Bears to the win.


Thirteen players scored for Lenoir-Rhyne, who also won its third straight match.


Danny Egan (Norwalk, Conn.) scored twice for the Fighting Knights, who are playing their first season as an intercollegiate program.


Lenoir-Rhyne held a 6-3 advantage midway through the second period before breaking the contest open with 12 consecutive goals.


L-R also received four assists each from senior midfielder Sam Ashton (New Market, Md.) and redshirt freshman attacker Cole Abourjilie (Greensboro, N.C.) while junior Alex Squires (Lawrenceville, Ga.) played the first half and earned the win in goal.


For Lynn, goalkeeper Taylor Ferrino (Orchard Park, N.Y.) suffered the loss despite totaling 10 saves. Lenoir-Rhyne also held the advantage in shots taken (51-28) and ground balls (46-33) on the day.


Lenoir-Rhyne next competes against Lees-McRae at home on Wednesday at Moretz Stadium beginning at 4:00 p.m. Lynn faces Rollins on the road on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.
