Watauga High track coach Randy McDonough has announced that senior Alison Seramur will sign her national letter of intent with Queens University next Thursday, March 13.


Queens University is a Division II school in Charlotte, N.C., and a member of Conference Carolinas. Seramur finished second in the girls's pole vault at the North Carolina High School Association Class 4A Indoor State Track Meet back on February 8. She cleared the bar with an effort of eleven feet. Anna Eaten of Apex won the Class 4A title with a jump of 12-feet.


Also, goalkeeper Chrissy Simmons of the Ashe County High girls' soccer team has signed with Methodist University, a Division III school in Fayetteville, N.C., and a member of the USA South Conference.


Simmons will major in business and minor in art.
