Farmer, McNeil Pace WHS Golf In Opener PDF Print

The Watauga High boys' golf team opened the season with a practice match at the Catawba Country Club in Newton, N.C.


The Pioneers finished fourth with a team score of 178. South Caldwell paced the field with a 161, and bested the field by four shots. Hibriten finished second with a 165. Tyler Johnson of the Panthers was the leading medalist as he fired an even par 36. Josh Farmer and Troy McNeil of the Pioneers finished eight shots back as they each registered an eight-over par 44.


Rory McNeil and Austin Northern each had a 45. The Pioneers will play a nine-hole match Monday at Orchard Hills Golf Course in Granite Falls, N.C. South Caldwell will be the host school.
