Hardin Park, Parkway Win Middle School Titles PDF Print

The Hardin Park Middle School girls' basketball team capped off an undefeated season by knocking off Blwoing Rock 50-32 in the Watauga County middle school championship game at Lentz-Eggers Gym at Watauga High School.


Hardin Park, which pulled off the daily double by winning both the regular-season and tournament championships, finished the season with a perfect 17-0 record. Blowing Rock, the No. 2 seed in the tournament, finished 12-5.


Madison Darner led the Eagies with a game-high 24 points. Makenzie Robinson suffered a concussion in the first quarter and left the game.

Parris Bolick led Blowing Rock with 14 points.





The Parkway Middle School boys' basketball team pulled off a huge upset Thursday night.


The Patriots (14-3) defeated Hardin Park 42-39 in overtime the Watauga County Middle School boys' championship game at Lentz-Eggers Gym at Watauga High School. Parkway won its first middle school tournament since 2011.


Isaiah Finger led the Patriots with 14 points; Sam Crabbe had 12.


Hayes Henderson led the Eagles with 18 points; Braxton Moffett added seven points.
