Lenoir-Rhyne's Jenni Gust has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player Of The Week, league officials announced today.
Gust, a junior guard from Colfax, Wis., averaged 15.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in leading Lenoir-Rhyne to a pair of league victories over Lincoln Memorial (63-55) and Newberry (75-62) last Saturday and Monday at home, respectively.
Gust tallied 18 points and seven rebounds in the triumph over the Lady Railsplitters before leading the squad with 13 points in the win against the Wolves.
Gust also hit 11-of-12 free throw attempts and connected on a pair of treys for the week as well.
Gust is second on the team in scoring (12.7 ppg) in addition to 4.5 rebounds per game, 17 total assists and 13 total blocks so far for the year.
Lenoir-Rhyne (19-4, 14-4) has won eight straight games and is 14-1 in its last 15 contests.
L-R is also tied at the top of the conference standings with Wingate and will face Catawba in a South Atlantic Conference game on Wednesday in Salisbury, N.C., beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Goodman Gymnasium.
