Appalachian State University received three more signees on National Signing Day Wednesday.


Pitcher Katon Harwood of T.C. Roberson, golfer Chance Watson of Avery and soccer player Austin Stamey of TCR all made it official by signing their national letters on Wednesday.


Harwood, a righthander, had also attracted an interest from Clemson, Coastal Carolina and East Carolina.


Harwood is six-foot-three, 220 pounds, and he throws his fastball around 87-91 miles-per-hour, according to Harwood, who transferred from A.C. Reynolds to Asheville-Roberson last season, decommited from Clemson last July.


As a junior, Harwood was 4-2 with a 2.79 earned-run average and 32 strikeouts in 32.1 innings pitched for TCR.


Stamey paced the TCR soccer team last fall to a 27-0-2 record and the Class 4A state championship. He paced the Rams with 34 goals, nine assists and 77 points. TCR defeated Raleigh-Sanderson 2-1 in the state championship game.


Watson was a state qualifier for the Vikings last spring. He finished in a tie for 17th place at the Class 1A state championships at the Chapel Hill Country Club in Chapel Hill, N.C.


Watson fired a seven-over-par 79 on par 72 course in the opening round; he had an 82 in the second round and finishsed with a two-day total of 161. Avery finished fifth as a team with a score of 668.
