Three pitchers for the Bears limited the Bulldogs to just two hits and two unearned runs while L-R senior outfielder Brandon Walker (Otisville, N.Y.) led the way offensively.

Walker finished with three hits and two runs batted in and hit the game-winning home run to lead off the bottom of the sixth inning for the Bears, who rallied from a 2-0 deficit to take the win.

Senior first baseman Frank Poerio (Gibsonia, Pa.) added an RBI double while junior Nick Flachofsky (Pfafftown, N.C.) (1-0) was credited with the win on the mound for the Bears after coming on in relief. Barton's Mike Brienza (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) (0-1) took the loss.

Game Two - Barton 3, Lenoir-Rhyne 2 (eight innings)

The Bulldogs' Tyler Garrett (Greenville, N.C.) walked with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning as Barton salvaged the split. Barton's Bobby Jones (Roanoke Rapids, N.C.) scored the game-winning run as the Bulldogs prevailed in extra innings.

L-R senior designated hitter Mark Giles (Ridgefield, Conn.) hit a two-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to provide the lone offense of the contest for the Bears.

On the mound, Zach Breen (Watervliet, N.Y.) (1-0) earned the win for the Bulldogs while L-R junior Landon Elks (Shelby, N.C.) fell to 0-1 on the year after suffering the loss.
