For the third time this season, Lenoir-Rhyne University's Jazmine Charles has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player Of The Week.

Charles, a junior guard from Lexington, N.C., averaged 26.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in leading L-R to a pair of league victories at home over Catawba (66-65) and Brevard (68-57) last Wednesday and Saturday, respectively.

Charles led all scorers with 29 points in the overtime win against the Indians before tallying a double-double - 24 points and 11 rebounds - in the victory over the Tornados.

Charles also shot .600 (18-of-30) from the floor and including 66.7 percent (10-of-15) from behind the three-point line for the week as well.

Charles, a 2012-13 First-Team All-SAC honoree, currently ranks first in the league in scoring (19.4 ppg) and leads the squad in rebounding (7.4 rpg), free throw percentage (.850) and three-pointers made (39).

Charles is also just 40 points away from becoming the 18th player to score 1,000 points in school history.

Lenoir-Rhyne (15-4, 10-4) is currently on a four-game winning streak and has won 10 of its last 11 contests. The Bears stand one game out of first place in the league standings as well.

Lenoir-Rhyne next faces Coker in a South Atlantic Conference game in Hartsville, S.C., on Wednesday beginning at 6:00 p.m.
