Watauga High seniors Austin Northern and Austin Graham both medaled in their respective age group on Sunday at the NJGT Golf Tournament at the Lenior Golf Club in Lenior, N.C.



Northern won the 16-18 year-old tournament as he fired a four-over par 75. He bested the field by five shots. Graham, a fellow Pioneer, finished in a two-way tie for second place with Jacob Witcomb of of Mooresville. They were both at nine-over with an 80. Troy McNeil of the Pioneers was fifth with an 84; Kyle Decker was seventh with a 92.


Dawson Walker of Hibriten won the 14-15 year-old age division. He bested the field with a six over 77. Clay Bollinger of South Caldwell finished second with an 83; Zac Laws of the Spartans was fourth with an 84.


Alan Graham was fourth with an 86, nine shots back. Alex Dolen was sixth with a 112; Jacob Campell was seventh with a 118.Thomas Hicks had a 123.


Up next, the Pioneers will be competing at The Dunes Club in Myrtle Beach S.C., this coming weekend.
