The Bobcats (9-9, 6-3 CC) remain perfect at home (7-0) and led by as many as 19 while Kerri Belcher (Roanoke, Va.) collected her fifth double-double on the season with an 11-point, 11-rebound performance. The Tornado (11-6, 5-4) struggled from long range while going 5-for-26 from 3-point land.
A trio of layups from King gave them an 11-point advantage (16-5) with 12:25 remaining in the first half.
LMC would respond and finish the half on a 22-10 run when Icey Patterson (Seneca, S.C.) hit a jumper with four ticks on the clock and gave the Bobcats a one-point lead, 27-26.
Both teams struggled from the floor in the first half while both hit 10 field goals, but shot under 36%.
The Bobcat offense came to life in the first five minutes of the second half when they went on a 15-2 run to extend the lead to 42-29.
Despite playing with foul trouble, junior Kabrina Truesdale (Wilmington, N.C.) got in the mix with four points and three rebounds.
Consecutive buckets from Patterson and sophomore Alyssa Munson (Summerfield, N.C.) gave LMC its biggest lead at the 9:22 mark.
A pair of Niroska Perez (Asheville, N.C.) free-throws kept the lead at 15, but the Tornado would claw back with a 15-5 run to cut the deficit to five, 67-62, with 18 seconds left.
Truesdale would tally five of her 11 points to seal the victory while LMC shot 47.1% in the second half.
Munson paced the Bobcat squad with 14 points while Lauren Lewis (Concord, N.C.) had 12. LMC controlled the glass with a 46-40 advantage.
Sydney Harris had a game-high 16 points for King while Bonnie Durrett and Jalan Harper had 10 apiece.
LMC will put its flawless home record to a tough test when it welcomes conference-leader Limestone (8-1) to Williams Gymnasium Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
