ASU Men's T&F Finish Hokie Invite PDF Print

Appalachian State University men's track and field capped off the Hokie Invite today in Blacksburg, Va.

 

 

Marshall McRae notched a fifth-place finish in the 60m run, tying a career high of 6.92.

 

Raphael Rojas also finished in the top ten for the Mountaineers, running the 800m in 1:57.74 and placing tenth.

 

High jumpers Cole Finch and Samuel Allen each finished seventh in the event, jumping heights of 1.92m.

 

Phillip Thomas placed ninth in the pole vault with height of 4.68m, while Matt Layne placed second in the unseeded pole vault event, setting a personal best of 4.60m.

 

The triple jumpers found three top-ten finishes for Appalachian as Jamal Tiller took home fifth place with a jump of 14.26m, Adedeji Adeneye placed seventh (13.92m) and Henry Bustle followed, placing eighth (13.91m).

 

John Leonard rounded out the meet for App State, placing ninth in the shot put while throwing a distance of 14.69m. Nathan Milch finished in tenth place with a throw of 14.13m.

 

 

 

Women's Track and Field Caps Off Hokie Invite

 

 

Appalachian State University women's track and field finished up at the Hokie Invitational on Saturday in Blacksburg, Va.

 

Breanna Alston was the highlight of the weekend, finishing third in the 60m run with a time 7.64 and placing third in the 200m run with season best time of 24.32.

 

Shelby Howell and Taryn Stern each notched top-ten finishes in the 800m. Howell placed 6th with a time of 2:17.00 while Stern placed tenth, running it in 2:19.78.

 

Makayla Roten took home eighth-place in the high jump, jumping a height of 1.67m.

 

Cassie Crawford posted a sixth-place finish (3.75m) in the pole vault, followed by Chelsea Farr who finished eighth with a season best height of 3.60m.

 

Debra Domermuth placed first in the unseeded pole vault event, recording a new personal best of 3.65m, while Sydney Cook placed third with a height of 3.35.

 

Tatyana Bryant posted a new personal best in the triple jump, placing sixth with a jump of 11.92m.

 

Brianna Tate led the throwers at the Hokie Invite, placing fifth in the shot put with a throw of 13.84m and then placing third in the weight throw, tying a career best throw of 17.31m. Jocelyn Parnell followed Tate, posting a tenth place finish in the weight throw (15.77m).

 

The App State men and women will return to action on Jan. 31-Feb. 1 for the Hilton Garden Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C.
