The Watuaga High wrestling team dropped a 48-25 decision to South Caldwell at Lentz-Eggers Gym Wednesday night.



The Pioneers (2-3 Northwestern 3A/4A Conference) picked up wins from Jeremiah Woolridge in the heavyweight divison, Demetre Kostis at 132 pounds, Hunter Templeton at 113, Mark Townsend at 120, and Gabe Irwin at 160.


Woolridge pinned Manuel Coleman of the Spartans at 1:04 of the first period; Templeton won by injury default against Will Barlow of South Caldwell; Townsend defeated Jace Kemper of South Caldwell by major decision, 15-5; Kostis pinned Logan Yount of the Spartans in 47 seconds; Irwin defeated Carson Lineback of the Spartans, 7-2.


The Pioneers take on St. Stephens at home tonight at 6 p.m. WHS wraps up the regular season at Fred T. Foard Tuesday night; the NW3A/4A Conference championships are scheduled for next Saturday.
