Kathleen Mansure has quietly put together a consistent season for the Watauga High cross country and track teams.

The WHS junior, who qualified for the state cross country championships in Kernersville, N.C., in September, followed that up by qualifying for the state indoor championships in the girl's 3,200-meter run next month in Winston-Salem.

Mansure finished seventh on Saturday at the JDL Fast Track (the site for the state championships on February 8) in the 3,200 as she completed the race in 12:04.92. She was one of only two top ten finishers for WHS on the day.

Alison Seramur captured another pole vault title as she cleared the bar with an effort of ten-feet, six inches to best the field. She was also WHS' only top five finisher among the girls.

The boys had seven top-ten finishers, and three top-five finishers.

Justin Hall was WHS' top finisher in the boys' meet as he finished fourth in the triple jump with an effort of 37-07. Deshawn Grimes was sixth (34-8.50).

Zack Pifer finished fifth in the high jump (5-02) and the WHS 4x800-meter relay team finished fifth in 9:20.54.

Zack Styron was eighth in the 55-meter hurdles (8.60), Jacob Soule finished ninth in the boy's 1,600 in 4:52.46, and Michael Holland finished tenth in the 1,600 in 4:53.49.

WHS travels back to Winston-Salem for the Fast Track Invitational Friday and Saturdy, January 24-25.
