The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Basketball Team (8-3, 3-3) made it three wins in a row with an 82-77 road triumph over Lincoln Memorial (4-6, 3-3) Saturday evening in a South Atlantic Conference game at Tex

Turner Arena.



L-R senior guard Danielle Bongiorno (Wilmington, N.C.) and junior guard Jazmine Charles (Lexington, N.C.) each scored a team-high 16 points in the victory.


Lincoln Memorial's Aisjah Roan (Louisville, Ky.) led all scorers with 26 points while Katrina Ottesen (Chandler, Ariz.) added 20 points but the Lady Railsplitters came up short.


In a contest which featured 11 ties and 15 lead changes, senior guard Brittany Christian (Raleigh, N.C.) gave the Bears the lead for good with a three-pointer for a 61-59 advantage with 6:29 left in the contest.


The trey was the start of a 10-0 run for Lenoir-Rhyne and the Bears never trailed again the rest of the way.


L-R senior guard Krystal Patton (Chilhowie, Va.) added 15 points as the Bears held a 38-30 advantage in rebounds and connected on 21-of-26 free throws in the second half in the victory.


Otteson also finished with five three-pointers for the Lady Railsplitters but Lincoln Memorial lost its fifth straight game.


Lenoir-Rhyne returns home to face Wingate in a South Atlantic Conference game on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m., at Shuford Memorial Gymnasium. Lincoln Memorial, meanwhile, faces league-foe Anderson on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m., as well on the road.
