Bears Swimming Competes At Shark Invite PDF Print

The Lenoir-Rhyne University Men's and Women's Swimming Teams remained in seventh and ninth place, respectively, after Monday's events at the Shark Invitational at the Nova Southeastern Aquatics Center.

In the men's standings, the L-R has totaled 86 points while Tampa continues to lead with 1,313.5 points.

In the women's competition, Lenoir-Rhyne has 94 points with one day remaining while Tampa ranks first with 1,006.5 points.

For Lenoir-Rhyne, the women's 800-yard freestyle relay broke a school record with a time of 7:57.79.

The Bears' relay squad consisted of sophomores Leah Watts (Hickory, N.C.), Samantha Garrett (Fort Bragg, Alaska) and Abigail McRea (Hickory, N.C.) and freshman Lyndsay Richard (Gastonia, N.C.).

The final day of the invitational takes place on Tuesday.
