Kevin Higgins, the head coach at The Citadel, is leaving to become the assistant head coach at Wake Forest under new head coach Dave Clawson. Higgins also will coach a position on offense, but that role

has not been determined.

Higgins led The Citadel for nine years and was 43-58 during his stay in Charleston, S.C. The Bulldogs, who defeated Appalachian State the last two years, were 5-7 this past fall. Higgins best years at The Citadel came in 2007 and in 2012, when his teams posted 7-4 records.

Clawson, who led Bowling Green to the Mid American Conference championship this season, replaced Jim Grobe, who resigned on December 2. The Demon Deacons were 4-8 in 2013.
