Alequine Earns All-America Honors PDF Print

Lenoir-Rhyne's Garcelle Alequine has been named to the 2013 NCAA Division II NSCAA/Continental Tire Women's Soccer All-American Third Team.


NSCAA is the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.


Alequine, a sophomore forward from Wilmington, Del., led the Bears in goals scored (nine) and total points (23) this year as Lenoir-Rhyne won the South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Championship for the fourth straight year.


Alequine was also a First-Team All-South Atlantic Conference and an All-Southeast Region honoree by both Daktronics and the NSCAA.


Alequine finished with five assists and three of her goals were match-winners this year as well.


Alequine, a two-time all-league honoree (2012-13), has totaled 17 goals, 12 assists and 46 points so far in her collegiate career with the Bears.


Lenoir-Rhyne finished the year with a record of 14-4-2 overall and earned a trip to the playoffs for the fourth straight season. L-R also hosted the NCAA Division II Southeast Region Tournament in November.
