After completing a fall season that saw the Mountaineers take first place at the Quinnipiac Invitational, Appalachian State University women’s golf released its
2014 spring schedule, head coach Heather Brownannounced on Thursday.
The Mountaineers open their slate on Feb. 23, as they travel to High Point, N.C. for the two-day High Point University Classic.
From there, the Apps hit the road and begin their spring break on March 10 in Jacksonville, Fla. for the UNF Invitational hosted by the University of North Florida. The tournament will be played at Jacksonville Golf and Country Club.
The Mountaineers then return to North Carolina for the Pinehurst Invitational for a two-day tournament beginning on March 16 that will be held at Pinehurst No. 1. The invite is hosted by College of Charleston.
Brown’s squad then travels to Bluffton, S.C. for the Low Country Intercollegiate that spans March 23-24. The Mountaineers have won the tournament two of the past three years. It will be played at the Moss Creek South course and hosted by Wofford.
The Apps will then host the Mimosa Intercollegiate at the Mimosa Hills Country Club for a two-day event beginning on March 30. App State won this event last year with former Mountaineer Yue Xu claimed a second-place finish, while current junior Haley Zagoria took a third-place finish.
The 2014 spring schedule closes on April 12 with the Apps making their second trip to Bluffton for the Southern Conference Championships on the Moss Creek North course. Last year, the Mountaineers finished eighth at the championships.
