Three members of the Lenoir-Rhyne University Women's Soccer Team were named to the 2013 NCCSIA All-State College Division Teams. NCCSIA is the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information

Association.

Sophomore forward Garcelle Alequine (Wilmington, Del.) and sophomore defender Amber Madriaga (Wailuku, Hawai'i) were selected to the first team while sophomore midfielder Emmi Dunn (Reading, Pa.) garnered second-team all-state honors for the Bears.

Alequine led L-R in goals scored (nine) and total points (23) this fall while Madriaga anchored a Bears' defense which produced a 0.96 goals-against average and six shutouts. Madriaga also finished with two goals and a pair of assists on the year.

Meanwhile, Dunn totaled six goals in 2013 including a hat trick against Mars Hill in a 6-0 victory on October 9 at home. All three players earned all-conference and all-region accolades as well.

Lenoir-Rhyne finished the year with a 14-4-2 record overall including a 9-1-1 mark in league play en route to its fourth consecutive South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Championship. The Bears also earned their fourth straight trip to the postseason and hosted the NCAA Division II Southeast Regionals.

Founded in 2002, The North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions from the state of North Carolina.

The purpose of the organization is to promote collegiate athletics at all schools. Membership is open to anyone affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina, and whose area of responsibility lies within sports information.
