Brown Adds Two for 2014-15 Mountaineers PDF Print

Appalachian State University women’s golf head coach Heather Brown has announced the signing of two golfers for her 2014-15 roster.

 

 

 

“Both girls bring a desired work ethic to the program,” said coach Brown. “I expect them both to impact our depth immediately and look forward to their competitive spirit.”

 

Savanna Mackie, a Jamestown, N.C. native, attended Caldwell Academy in Greensboro, N.C. and finished as an all-conference golfer her freshman through senior seasons. As a junior, Mackie earned an all-area team one award. Mackie was the first golfer in Caldwell Academy history to win a conference match and also competed in the men’s conference with the same yardages and carded a one over 36, while finishing with a stroke average of 38.5.

 

Local product and Boone, N.C. native, Savanna Wood attended Watuaga High School and was named all-conference her freshman through senior seasons, while also being an all-state golfer as a sophomore and a senior. Wood was a four-time most valuable player and earned 3A/4A player of the year her sophomore and senior seasons. Wood finished her high school career with a stroke average of 38.8.
