The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Basketball Team (3-1, 2-0) came out on top again with another close South Atlantic Conference win, 74-73 over Anderson (4-1, 1-1) Saturday night at Shuford Memorial

Gymnasium.

L-R senior guard R.J. McClure (Canton, N.C.) led all scorers with 29 points to go along with four three-pointers and connected on 11-of-11 free throw attempts as the Bears remained unbeaten in league play this year.

Anderson, which cut a 15-point deficit late in the second half to one, was led by Chris Ross (Spartanburg, S.C.) with 20 points in losing effort.

The Trojans' Chandler Hash (Greer, S.C.), the league's leading scorer, added 19 points including 17 in the second half but missed free throws down the stretch cost the visitors.

Anderson missed five free throws in the final 1:15 of regulation including the front end of three with one second remaining and Lenoir-Rhyne was able to hold on for the win.

L-R held a 61-46 advantage with 5:33 remaining but Anderson responded with a 20-6 run to cut the margin to 67-66 on a pair of free throws by C.J. Gleaton (Anderson, S.C.) with 1:50 left but the Bears were able to hold their slim lead the rest of the way. Gleaton finished with 14 points on the night but the Trojans suffered their first loss of the season.

L-R sophomore guard Will Perry (Wake Forest, N.C.) and senior center Matt Kunz (Kernersville, N.C.) added 14 and 11 points each, respectively, while McClure extended his consecutive free throws made streak to 34. McClure is 37-of-38 (.974) from the charity stripe this season.

Lenoir-Rhyne hits the road to take on Wingate on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m., in a league game in Wingate, N.C. Anderson, meanwhile, faces Lincoln Memorial on Tuesday beginning at 8:00 p.m., in Harrogate, Tenn.
