Appalachian State University volleyball dominated Chattanooga on Saturday night at the Holmes Center, wining in three sets with scores of 25-12, 25-19 and 25-13.

Despite the Mocs scoring the first two points of the first set, the Mountaineers would pull ahead by scoring seven straight points to make the score 8-3. Chattanooga would not be able to close the lead, helping App State take the first set 25-12.

The Mocs would come out in a different mind set in the second set, taking a quick 15-9 lead. The Mountaineers regained composure to go on an eight-point rally and pull ahead to make the score 17-15. The Apps would not lose the lead again, winning the second 25-19.

The Mountaineers began the third set on fire, scoring the first three points of the set. Appalachian would continue to score and would not give up the lead once as they cruised to a 25-13 third set win to take the match 3-0.

Lauren Gray paced the Mountaineers offensively on the night, recording 12 kills and only 2 errors for a .455 hitting percentage.

Lauren Brown led the Mountaineers in digs for the first match of the year, tallying a match-high 14, while Paige Brown notched 43 assists on the night.

Briana Reid connected on ten kills for Chattanooga, while Melissa Green found 12 digs in the match.

The Mountaineers hit .312 on the night while holding the Mocs to just a .065 hitting percentage and recorded seven blocks to Chatt's four.

With the win, the Apps have won six of their last seven matches and have improved to a fourth place conference standing.

The Black and Gold hit the road for their last regular season matches against The Citadel on Nov. 15 and Georgia Southern on Nov. 16.
