Former Watauga High football coach Adrian Snow led West Forsyth to the Central Piedmont Class 4A Conference championship Friday night.

It's quite a turnaround for a team that produced its first winning season since 2010. Kealand Dirks ran for two touchdowns, the secondary forced three big turnovers, and defensive ends Quintin Brinkley and Jalen Dalton made a number of big plays as West Forsyth (10-1 overall; 6-0 CP4A) defeated North Davidson 17-14 Friday night in Clemmons, N.C.m to win its first conference championship since 2006 and first outright title since 2002.

It's also Snow's first conference championship team since 2007, when he led WHS to a tri-championship in the old Northwestern 4A Conference. The Pioneers received the No.1 seed in the Class 4A western playoffs and made it to the western finals for the second year in a row.

Snow is 46-23 in his six years with the Titans (he's 87-56 in his career). The Titans are the No.1 seed in the  Class 4AA western playoffs. They open the state playoffs at home against the No.16 seed, Zebulon-Vance (5-6) Friday night.
