The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Soccer Team moved up seven spots to No. 16 in this week's NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll. NSCAA is the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

In addition, the Bears remained first in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Poll.

The top six teams in the region on Sunday earn a berth to the NCAA Division II National Tournament. The First and Second Rounds of the playoffs take place on Friday, November 15, and Sunday, November 17.

Lenoir-Rhyne (14-3-1), the four-time defending South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Champions, defeated Carson-Newman (6-7-4) last night in the opening round of the Food Lion SAC Women's Soccer Tournament at home by a score of 5-1.

The Bears are the top seed in the league tournament while the Eagles were seeded eighth.

Lenoir-Rhyne now plays in the semifinals of the conference tournament on Friday and takes on fifth-seeded Lincoln Memorial (9-7-1) at 7:00 p.m.

The semifinals and finals of the Food Lion SAC Tournament take place at Manchester Meadows in Rock Hill, S.C. The tournament champion gets an automatic bid to the playoffs.
