For the fourth season in a row, the Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Soccer Team will be the No. 1 seed in the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament.

L-R (13-3-1) will host eighth-seeded Carson-Newman (6-6-4) on Tuesday in the quarterfinal round at the Moretz Sports - Athletic Complex beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Lenoir-Rhyne, ranked No. 23 in NCAA Division II, defeated Carson-Newman earlier this season by a 3-2 score on Saturday, October 5, in Jefferson City, Tenn.

The Bears also lead the all-time series with the Eagles, 17-12-2, and have won the past four meetings between the two squads.

L-R has won four straight SAC Regular Season Championships and won the league tournament both in 2010 and 2012.

Lenoir-Rhyne is also ranked first in the latest NCAA Division II Southeast Region Poll. The top six teams in the regional poll earn a berth to the NCAA D-II National Tournament. The Bears have made the postseason for the past three years.

This season, the Bears are being led by sophomore forward Garcelle Alequine (Wilmington, Del.) with nine goals, five assists and 23 total points.

In goal, junior Genny Little (Fredericksburg, Va.) has fashioned a 12-1 mark for the Bears with a 0.90 goals-against average, four shutouts and 36 saves as well.

The semifinals and finals of the 2013 league tournament will take place at Manchester Meadows in Rock Hill, S.C., on Friday, November 8, and Sunday, November 10, respectively. The winner of the conference tournament earns an automatic qualifying bid to the playoffs.
