The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Soccer Team (9-8-1, 4-6-1) saw its season come to an end with a 4-2 loss to Queens (13-3, 9-2) Saturday afternoon in a South Atlantic Conference match.
Thiago Andrade (Salvador, BRAZIL) scored twice for the Royals, who won the 2013 South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Championship in their inaugural year in the league.
Andrade added an assist on the first goal of the match in the 12th minute. Felipe Netto (Salvador, BRAZIL) headed the ball into the net off a corner kick from Andrade.
Andrade then put the contest away with goals in the 35th and 49th minutes, respectively, as the Royals built a 3-0 advantage early in the second half.
Jonathan Onyeka (Solihull, England) rounded out the scoring for Queens while L-R received goals from junior forward Alex Mather (Nottingham, ENGLAND) and junior midfielder Ben Jones (Dagenham, ENGLAND), who both scored late in the match despite the loss.
Jones finished the year with a team-leading 10 goals while senior goalkeeper Stefan Dill (Southampton, BERMUDA) took the loss despite tallying three saves for the Bears.
Queens held an 11-10 advantage in shots taken and Montrell Morgan (Charlotte, N.C.) earned the win in goal. Morgan did not allow a goal in over 76 minutes of action to go along with two saves.
Queens will be the No. 1 seed in the 2013 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Tournament and will host an opening round match on Tuesday.
