Patrick Smyth of the Denver Broncos says that coach John Fox did not suffer a heart attack. He was taken to a Charlotte-area hospital  after he became light-headed while playing golf.

Fox will kept in the hospital for testing and observation. It was reported earlier in the day that Fox had reportedly been taken to a Charlotte-area hospital with symptoms of a heart attack. There are reports that Fox, who was golfing in Charlotte this weekend while the Broncos are on their bye week, is expected to be all right. Fox was taken by ambulance from the golf course to the hospital.

The 58-year-old Fox has been a football coach for his entire adult life and an NFL head coach for the last 12 years. Fox does not have a history of significant health problems.

Fox was the head coach of the Carolina Panthers from 2002-10 before he was fired. He led the Panthers to Super Bowl XXXVIII, where they lost to the New England Patriots in 2003.

Fox has the 7-1 Broncos,. who have a bye week this week, off to a 7-1 start. They're currently one game behind the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West.  The Broncos play at San Diego on November 10.
