Patriots Earn Share of NW3A/4A Title PDF Print

Freedom High clinched at least a share of the Northwestern 3A-4A Conference championship---its first since 2004---with a 48-14 win against winless St. Stephens.

Freedom (9-1, 6-0) scored five TDs on 13 offensive plays in the firsrt half as it won its seventh straight game. The Patriots are just one  win away from having four consecutive ten-win seasons.

Sophomore running back B. J. Emmons scored twice in the first half on runs of 71 and 53 yards. in the first half; quarterback Titus Smith threw TD passes of 27 and 26 yards to senior wideout Khris Gardin. Senior running back Chris Bridges added a 77-yard scoring run to give the Patriots a commanding 34-0 lead at the halftime.
Kaelyn Phillips of the Indians returned the second half kick-off 85 yards for a TD.
