|Newberry Takes 3-2 Win Over L-R In Volleyball|

The Newberry College Volleyball Team (14-8, 9-7) pulled out a 3-2 victory over Lenoir-Rhyne (13-7, 10-6) Friday evening in a South Atlantic Conference match at Eleazer Arena.
The Wolves defeated the Bears by scores of 21-25, 29-27, 25-16, 23-25 and 15-12. Four players tallied double figures in kills for the Wolves, led by Jessica King (Los Angeles, Calif.) with 15, as Newberry won its fourth straight match.
Lenoir-Rhyne was led by junior outside hitter Haley Rhyne (Statesville, N.C.) with a team-high 12 kills while sophomore setter Briana Gottberg (Mooresville, N.C.) added 38 assists but the Bears suffered their second straight loss.
Senior middle blocker Kayla Morrow (China Grove, N.C.) finished with 10 kills for Lenoir-Rhyne, who suffered a season sweep to the hands of the Newberry. The Wolves, who also won their third consecutive five-set match, received 31 assists and seven digs from Chelsea Mayor (Sugar Land, Texas).
Lenoir-Rhyne next faces Anderson on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., in a South Atlantic Conference match in Anderson, S.C. Newberry remains at home and hosts Brevard on Saturday at 11:00 a.m., in a league contest.
