Bean Wins Mayor's Cup PDF Print

Blowing Rock resident and Reebok/ZAP Fitness Foundation athlete Cameron Bean picked up his first victory of the 2013-14 season on Sunday at the historic

Mayor's Cup Cross Country Invitational at Franklin Park in Boston, MA.

 

Bean made a strong move with a little more than 400 meters left in the race to accelerated home on the final curve. He finished the 8 kilometer (5 mile) course in the blistering time of 23-minutes and 57 seconds.


"Cameron executed his race plan well today," said Reebok/ZAP Head Coach Pete Rea. "We talked about being in a position to win the race with a mile to go and he followed the plan very well."

 

Bean, a native of Chattanooga, TN., attend Samford University in Alabama, was a multiple time Southern Conference Champion and school record holder.
