The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Soccer Team (7-7-1, 2-5-1) was handed a 1-0 loss to Catawba (8-4-1, 4-4-1)
Wednesday night in a South Atlantic Conference match at Frock Field.
The Indians' Kenny Bonilla (Salisbury, N.C.) scored the lone goal of the contest at the 52:02 mark of the second half, his sixth score on the year.
Frankie Cardelle (Salisbury, N.C.) earned the shutout in goal for the Indians, who held a 12-5 advantage in shots taken in the match. Cardelle made a pair of saves as well in notching his fourth shutout of the season.
L-R senior goalkeeper Stefan Dill (Southampton, BERMUDA) took the loss despite making six saves and allowing just one goal in the contest.
Lenoir-Rhyne also suffered its second straight loss and is now 0-4-1 in its last five league regular season matches.
On Saturday, Lenoir-Rhyne hosts Newberry on Senior Day at the Moretz Sports - Athletic Complex while Catawba travels to Harrogate, Tenn., to take on Lincoln Memorial. Both South Atlantic Conference matches begin at 3:30 p.m.
