|ASU Women’s Golf Wins Quinnipiac Classic|

Appalachian State University women’s golf finished in first place at the Quinnipiac Classic played at TPC River Highlands. The tournament finished on Tuesday with the
Mountaineers finishing five strokes better than second place Fairfield University.
The Mountaineers were led by individual champion Haley Zagoria (Atlanta, Ga./Woodward Academy) who fired a 78 on Tuesday to finish the tournament with a 156 and finish two strokes better than second place Nicole Scola of Quinnipiac.
Hannah Craver (Winston-Salem, N.C./Reagan) didn’t finish far behind Zagoria and finished tied for third place individually. Craver shot a 79 on the final round to finish three strokes better than her Monday score and conclude the tournament with a 161.
In fifth place, Madalyn Davis (Marion, N.C./McDowell) shot a 79, which was six strokes better than her first round, on the final 18 holes to finish with a 164 overall. Emily Stinson (Charlotte, N.C./Ardrey Kell) finished in a tie for 15th overall after bettering her first round by a stroke and shooting an 86 to finish with a 173. Tied for 30th was Lily Yatawara (Salisbury, N.C./Salisbury) who shot a 97 to finish with a 196 over both rounds of the tournament.
This is the first team win and individual win that Appalachian State has boasted so far during its fall season. The Mountaineers will host Wofford on Thursday before heading to Rock Hill, S.C. to finish off their fall schedule at a tournament hosted by Winthrop.
