Last night, just after 7:30 PM, Boone Police responded to a report of a man with a gun demanding entrance into a closed business.  An employee reported that while she was cleaning up, a man started knocking on the door, and as she approached the door, the man began to bang on the door and yelled at her to let him in while brandishing a handgun.  The employee moved to the back of the business and called 911.  Boone Police officers arrived within three minutes and began their search for the man, but were unable to locate the suspect.  A K-9 was utilized to track the suspect from the business to a parking lot where the track ended, leading to speculation that the suspect may have fled the area in a vehicle. The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, 18-24 years-of-age, 5’ 09” tall, thin build, with a goatee and facial hair, wearing a gray sweatshirt and a dark colored beanie. Boone Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact High Country Crime Stoppers at 828-268-6959 / 828-737-0125 or the Boone Police Department at 828-268-6900.  All information will be kept confidential.
